Q. Why have the valve(s) failed?
A. Sometimes the valves can fail through (dare we say it) old-age! The valves can also fail due to particles entering the pump-head through the inlet side. This can be due to a dirty or missing filter. The valves can also fail if the pump is used with incompatible liquids (flammable liquids and harsh chemicals). We always recommend regular cleaning of the inlet filter on the pump.
Q. Why don’t you supply the valves separately as only one seems to have failed?
A. The valve plate assembly should always be replaced as a complete part, if one valve (there are four on the plate) seems to have failed it is likely that the others will follow fairly shortly. The valves are an extremely tight fit in the valve plate and are easily damaged or distorted whilst installing.
